Road to Bethlehem 2020
While many of the usual activities that happen around Christmas were cancelled last year, Road to Bethlehem, whose purpose is to put CHRIST back into CHRISTmas in CHRISTchurch, did take place and was a real blessing.
One child wrote “Thank you for the performance. It was sooooo realistic. It really made me think about what Christmas really is.”
This outdoor presentation of the nativity story was held over four evenings, the week before Christmas, with four sessions each night. 100 volunteers were involved. Around 2000 attended, which was well up on previous years.
One visitor noted: “So impressive!! Level of production was great and invitation to consider Christmas story was respectful and appropriate. Thank you.”
Another person wrote: “Thank you all! God bless this ministry. May you continue this till Jesus comes!”
And this we will do. We are already in the planning stage for Road to Bethlehem 2021 which will be held from Sunday 19 to Wednesday 23 December.
We are always keen to have new people involved: people with ideas, ones to construct scenes, setup and pull down, work behind the scenes or act. If you are interested, please make contact. (See opportunities section of Christmas)
And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. Luke 2:10-11
