I would like to highly commend the Evangelism Network (previously known as Canterbury Evangelism Network) to Christians, Churches and Christian organisations across NZ. My name is John Alpe and I pastored St Albans Baptist Church in Christchurch for 24 years before recently retiring in 2021. CEN has been operating for nine years and I was one of the founding members of this organisation. Post the Earthquake, we realised the church in Christchurch needed encouragement in evangelism. The steering team have done an outstanding job of faithfully and creatively encouraging the Churches of Christchurch to focus outward, and to raise the profile of evangelism and evangelists in local churches. The EN steering team is a team of people who are credible, talented, and enthusiastic. I have no difficulty in recommending them to you.
John Alpe, 2022
I honour the incredible passion and strategic intent of the Evangelism Network and, being privileged to know the heart of each of its Christchurch based leaders, can testify to their commitment and initiative as they seek to inspire and equip other individuals, organisations and churches with strategies and tools to be effective in communicating this glorious message of Jesus Christ.
Their name, Evangelism Network, encapsulates the intent and focus. Firstly, Evangelism; this is clearly the heart and gifting of the team. Secondly, Networking; what a great gift to see like-minded connections built across the body of Christ. Initially the focus being in the Christchurch region but now reaching nationally, expanding through the vision and intentionality of the team. This focus on missional intent with the desire to equip the body of Christ towards this end is greatly commended and encouraged.
