How much pizza do you serve?

According to Tony Collis, it takes people about 7 encounters with the gospel before they become meaningfully engaged.  While he used to think that this meant that a person needed to hear the full gospel message this many times, he now understands it to mean that people need 7 engagements to get unstuck.  They don’t need 7 pizzas!  Just one piece of pizza at a time or may be a few at a time.  A person needs to be served the right piece of pizza to make the next step towards faith.  To do this we need to

      Dialogue to find out where the person is at
     Diagnose what information or testimony will help them get unstuck
     Discuss the relevant piece of info / testimony

Serving someone the whole pizza in one go can be unpalatable so we need to listen to the Holy Spirit and listen to the person carefully and watch their body language to know when they’ve had enough pizza for one session.
