Background

Christchurch Evangelism Network launched in 2012 at the same time as the Te Raranga Pastors’ Network was forming in Christchurch. A few years later it changed to Canterbury Evangelism Network to reflect the pastors from outside of Christchurch that had joined the network.

The Networks' goal is quite simply to ‘encourage Christians to share Jesus’. We send out a monthly newsletter with inspiring stories, recommended resources, prayer highlights, and information about outreach and equipping events.

Over the years we have run many pastors’ gatherings, and meetings for those who are keen on evangelism. We have also run many gatherings for leaders of community kids’ programmes and have ensured that the Christian story was presented in the Christchurch Christmas Parade each year.

In 2016 we had a pastors' and leaders’ gathering during which a five-year vision was set. We have met our expectations with two of the stated strategies and have decided to be more proactive in 2021 - 2023 regarding the other strategies.

During 2021 God encouraged us to remove ‘Canterbury’ from our name and become ‘Evangelism Network’. We have a new logo and website as we journey forward into serving more people in NZ. Over the years, many people outside of Canterbury have expressed their desire to be part of a network like ours. With our expanding vision, we hope to make that possible. Our website makes it easy for you to find the resources, inspiring stories and opportunities that have been previously shared in our newsletters.
