Camp Good News 2016

As in every set of school holidays, Camp Good News ran a camp over the summer holiday for 8-10 year old ‘at risk’ Canterbury children.  The children were sponsored by The Christchurch Children’s Holiday Camp Trust which was originally set up by Christian businessmen.  64 children attended.  The leaders got the opportunity to show and tell the children of God’s wonderful love for them.  They spent an hour each day singing, learning a memory verse, listening to a Bible story, having a quiz, and having a prayer time. Three children made decisions to be Christians at the camp and many Bibles were given away.  Please pray that the children who attended would meet Christians in their community and continue to learn more about God.  Please pray for those who made decisions; that God would send them Christians to journey with them.

Camp Good News camps have two leaders for every five children, who are equipped to lead all aspects of the camp including the spiritual aspects.  Summer and winter camps are held at Woodend Christian Camp and spring and autumn camps at Waipara Adventure Centre.  If you have anyone interested in helping be a leader, email campgoodnews@xtra.co.nz
